Our Chief Executive Officer brings over four decades of experience in national security, corporate risk management, and executive leadership across both public and private sectors. Robert A. Messemer is a globally recognized expert in strategic security operations, enterprise risk, and crisis response—trusted by multinational corporations, law firms, and government institutions alike to navigate complex, high-stakes environments.
Robert founded Pinnacle Global Risk after serving as the first-ever Chief Security Officer for Nielsen Media and later for NielsenIQ, where he developed and led global corporate and cyber security strategies across 106 countries. For over 14 years, he advised the Nielsen Board and Audit Committee on cybersecurity, financial fraud, crisis management, compliance, and enterprise risk, establishing himself as a trusted senior executive partner and solutions provider. At NielsenIQ, he played a key leadership role during its spin-off, guiding risk operations through a pivotal corporate transition.
Before entering the corporate world, Robert served with distinction as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 24 years, holding multiple senior leadership positions. He earned commendations from three FBI Directors and the U.S. Attorney General, and was recognized by U.S. Ambassadors for exceptional performance during overseas assignments. He also received national recognition for his leadership role in the FBI’s high-profile civil rights investigation into the Rodney King case.

His expertise spans internal investigations, cybersecurity oversight, regulatory compliance, geopolitical risk, business continuity, and board-level governance. He is known for his ability to solve complex challenges without drawing public scrutiny, particularly during moments of political and reputational sensitivity.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and has pursued advanced executive education at Harvard Business School, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Programme. His leadership continues to shape the risk intelligence landscape, guiding clients with clarity, discretion, and unwavering integrity.
